Hi, so I’m James, and by some miracle you have managed to stumble your way onto my blog. And seeing as you appear to have made the effort to go so far as to stay on the page long enough to click on the ‘about me’ section, I feel it is only fair to give you something to read.
Whenever I have to describe myself, it invariably ends up like this…
- Photo Taker,
- Word Re-Arranger,
- Reading Addict and
- Sometime Idiot.
This order is never stable, but the content remains steadfastly the same. Cut me down to my bare bones and the four pieces that are left are as above.
So let’s take it further…
I have been taking photos now since 2012 and in my private life I take and upload photos to Flickr and IG using my trusty D500.
I am also a writer. Or at least, a moron who one day hopes to have shuffled words around on a page sufficiently enough to persuade some poor sap to read my work. Sadly, whilst I have written a book, it is not currently in a position to be read. Fear not, however, for you will get to read my flowing, dulcet voice in my blog posts (should you, you know, want to) as I share some of my smaller pieces.
And then there is of course the big cahoona. The pièce de résistance. The thing that has driven me on the path to authordom, and hopefully hasn’t driven you away; my reading addiction.
I have not chosen my nome de plume lightly. A made up word it may be, but a fear of running out of things to read is a real thing to me. Ever since I can remember I have enjoyed reading. As a kid I would sit in the corner and read, as uni student I would sit in the corner and read, and as a fully fledged fool masquerading as an adult… You bet’cha, I sit in the corner and read.
And boy is it such a relief to find that others like me are not so rare as I thought. Goodreads was an eye opener, Bookstagram and the attendant blogs however have been revolutionary. And now I’m here? Well, I feel like I’ve arrived.
Hopefully, however, that isn’t me being the sometime Idiot…
Have fun reading.
